SFCHA Meeting and Work day

posted today by Dave Roberts

Hey guys just wanted to give you all an update of the spring meeting / work day(April 10th). We will meet at 9am in the check station parking lot in St. Chuck.

I spoke with the SFCHA president yesterday (Brian Siess) to identify what project we would be attacking…

thankfully we have had a very mild spring with low water conditions. This has reduced the amount of dike damage due to flooding so there are few holes that need to be patched.

Depending on the turn out we would like to do a parking lot / river clean up of garbage and spring debris. Brian would also like to remove all pull over materials (railroad tracks).

We may also do some log jam removal in the Bad River depending on the weather. A boat and waders wouldn’t hurt if you could bring one. Looking forward to seeing you there!

New Business (sorta)

My dad and I have been doing modifications to boats for years now….well we decided to advertise for this summer! Any of you guys that needs runners, winch mounts, aluminum boat repair, welds/leaks or even loose rivets, give us a call.

We also can rebuild blown out Lewis winches or even optimize them to pull better for you. I have most material in stock and can have your boat or winch back to you in a few days. Please keep us in mind, we prefer to work on these projects over the summer and not during duck season…so schedule with us ASAP.

Spring Snow Conservation

My dad left Wednesday morning on his trip to Mound City area to stack the snows. With all the rain and snow melt the place has turned into a mud pit but looks like they are hittin some birds. I’ll post more pictures as I get them.
